What We Do

MMPA provides independent and objective advice to new and emerging neighbourhood areas. We have particular expertise in dealing with Local Council planning teams, Local Councillors and MPs and government departments including DCLG. We have extensive expertise in working with business communities.

We can support you through all 5 key stages of producing a neighbourhood plan through a combination of the following services:

  • Understanding Neighbourhood Planning
  • Project planning and management
  • Advice on grants and funding including Bid-writing
  • Stakeholder identification and engagement
  • Communicating with the businesses in your area
  • Making the case for the Neighbourhood Area
  • Developing a Neighbourhood Forum
  • Developing a brand and communications strategy
  • Website development
  • Gathering the evidence base
  • Policy review
  • Learning ¬†from the experience of others
  • Preparing a Neighbourhood Plan
  • Preparing for External examination
  • Getting a result at referendum

Every neighbourhood area is unique and will require a different combination of support. You may have individuals involved in your area that can undertake some work on a voluntary basis.  Or there may be some businesses within your forum or parish that will offer services on a pro bono basis. There is also some free advice available that you should explore in the first instance (see for further information.)

In her capacity as Neighbourhood Planning Champion for Communities and Local Government, Maresa Molloy, the Director of MMPA is available to talk to any group or organisation interested in taking forward a Neighbourhood Plan for their area.
